A graduate of the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, Max Cohen, founder of Cohen Studios, has been a professional North Carolina photographer for over seven years, working in both digital photography and film. At the Institute, he was exposed to a wide range of technical skills and studied under world-renowned photographers, both as faculty instructors and guest speakers.

Moving from the Catskill Mountains in New York as a child, Max has called North Carolina home for over 21 years. Raised by a mother who is always inventing new products, and a father who is a world-traveled jazz drummer (he's been touring since Eisenhower was president), Max never had any shortage of creative influence growing up - picking up his first camera, a Pentax K1000, at the age of 11.

Describing himself as a "generalist," Max is always willing to approach any type of project head on - believing that versatility is one of the greatest skills to gain no matter what your industry is. With roots in the restaurant industry, door-to-door sales, and of course, freelance photography - Max knows what kinds of struggles small businesses often times face. He has made it his mission to help every local and state-wide company keep their fighting chance to compete by giving them something that can be difficult to get: a fresh face.

Max currently lives in the small town of Wendell, NC - about 30 minutes east of Downtown Raleigh.
